Job Description

What You'll Do:

• Provides general legal advice to the Casino Control Commission
• Drafts and facilitates implementation of new and amended administrative rules
• Conducts legal research on a variety of complex legal issues, including preparing written opinions or memoranda
• Reviews and responds to public record requests
• Drafts and facilitates the implementation of new and amended policies and procedures
• Prepares Notices of Opportunity for Hearing and Notices of Violation for licensing and regulatory compliance violations
• Supports the Attorney Generals Office in administrative hearings, appeals, and general litigation
• Responds to inquires from the public and other governmental authorities
• Monitors legislation for agency or legal impact
• Assists in labor relations matters, including the discipline and grievance process

Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 12 mos. exp. as licensed attorney; 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development.

Compensation
Starting compensation for this position is $39.22 hourly/$81,578 annually with the opportunity to advance in pay after six months. This position is in Pay Range 14, please visit Pay Range Table

Background Check Information
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check, including a BCI/FBI fingerprint. Criminal convictions do not necessarily preclude an applicant from consideration for a position. An individual assessment of an applicant’s prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
