POSITION SUMMARY:Work as an assistant to the full time staff member in a K3-K5 classroom.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in implementation of daily curriculum that provides social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual experiences
• Follow proper safety guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
• Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, and techniques

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices of young children
• Ability to provide guidance for young children
• Ability to work with children and move quickly, assist and supervise young children, lift children, equipment, and supplies, and hear and see at a distance
• Exhibit patience, creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm, and stamina
• Able to constantly lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to constantly push/pull up to 25 lbs.
• Able to stand and walk constantly 

CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:

• 15 clock hours of training annually pertaining to growth and development, curriculum, health and safety and professional development
• Bloodborne Pathogens and Right to Know training as required by law
• Successful completion of background checks, physical, and PPD (TB skin test)
