Annual Wage Range: $77,981.60 - $107,224.70
Other Compensation: Eligibility for the Short-Term Incentive program and other applicable bonuses

Chemical Engineer

Grace is looking for a Chemical Engineer to join our team in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. The Chemical Engineer leads process improvement and troubleshooting efforts across several processes and unit operations. Grace's Contract development manufacturing organizations (CDMO) gives the Engineer the ability to accelerate their career by working with a variety of different chemistries and technologies in a short period of time across a wide range of business markets.

The Tyrone site located in central Pennsylvania within twenty-five minutes of Penn State University. The site has over 50 years of manufacturing experience in fields including pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, refinery catalyst, and performance chemicals. Engineers at Grace are vital to driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, sustainability, operability, and cost in a dynamic and exciting environment.

The Chemical Engineer is in Tyrone, Pennsylvania site.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned processes run safely and effectively.
  • Overseeing the set-up of process runs.
  • Following safety protocols and drive continuous improvement in safety
  • Support daily manufacturing processes, provide engineering expertise, and drive improvements as an integral part of a process team
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment and operational problems
  • Develop and support introduction of new processes
  • Creation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Programming and management of interlocks and alarms
  • Oversee inspection of process equipment
  • Lead improvement projects of share site areas and assets
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) of deviations, observation, and incidents related to health, safety, and quality.

Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years related technician experience
