SCADA Programmer – Level 1

Location: Morrison, CO 
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Range: $35.00 – $55.00 per hour

This is an entry-level SCADA programming opportunity with a growing systems integrator specializing in water and wastewater controls, instrumentation, and data integration . You’ll work alongside experienced programmers and engineers, gaining hands-on exposure to design, installation, startup, and commissioning of automated control systems. This position offers strong mentorship, ongoing training, and a clearly defined path for advancement.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the development, testing, startup, and commissioning of SCADA and PLC-based control systems
• Write and modify control code—from initial development through commissioning—based on project complexity
• Support field installations and act as a technical resource for technicians
• Provide guidance on:
• Control panel wiring
• VFD programming
• Network layouts
• Instrument scaling and calibration
• Site commissioning activities
• Troubleshoot communication issues involving remote telemetry and radio systems
• Develop and maintain HMI and ladder logic programs
• Collaborate with remote engineers and programmers as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• (Equivalent experience, training, or education will be considered)
• Basic understanding of PLC wiring and programming , including:
• Sinking vs. sourcing
• 4–20 mA analog loops
• Ability to read and modify electrical schematics
• Familiarity with NEC standards
• Experience or exposure to:
• Instrument calibration and programming
• VFD programming and commissioning
• Ladder logic programming and structured program layouts
• Familiarity with SCADA/HMI platforms such as:
• iFix
• Wonderware
• FactoryTalk
• Ignition
• Red Lion
• Basic networking knowledge
• Strong proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and research skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience with telemetry systems using:
• UHF
• VHF
• ISM 900
• IEEE 802.11 standards

Travel & Work Environment

• Combination of field and office work
• Up to 75% travel , primarily within Colorado
• Typically a few overnight trips per month (may vary during busy seasons)
